What is a biennial? How does it differ from annuals? Biennials have much in common with annuals, but they differ in one major
aspect. They take 2 years to complete their life
cycle rather than annuals that take only one year. Some
examples of biennials are sweet william, and foxglove.
I have a problem with deer!! What are some things I can do
that will make the deer go elsewhere for dinner? Choosing
plants for your garden that the deer do not normally have a taste for, is one thing you can do. Examples of plants that deer avoid are: -boxwoods -night blooming jasmine -junipers -oregano -sages -rosemary -elderberry -blackeyed
susans -yarrow -butterfly weed -false indigo -lily of the valley -larkspur -foxglove -lantana -cardinal
flower -bee balm -dusty miller -lamb's ear -wisteria -zinnias -heliotrope -nicotiana -coral honeysuckle Hot pepper spray sometimes helps too. Sprinkling hair and soap around the border of the garden will
help for a week or two but normally the deer get used to it!
